Week 45 Reading Guide
That You May Believe
John 1-21
Big Idea: The Gospel of John was written so that we may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing we may have life in His name. More theological than the Synoptics, John emphasizes Jesus’ divine identity, relational intimacy, and the call to abiding faith. With signs, “I am” statements, and extended conversations, John invites readers into a personal encounter with the living Word made flesh.

Reflection for the Week
John’s Gospel opens with eternity and ends with restoration. It tells the story of a God who moves toward us in grace and truth, full of glory, full of love. Jesus is the true vine, the light of the world, the resurrection and the life. He turns water into wine, kneels to wash feet, and prays for His followers to be one. John invites us to behold Jesus—not just to learn about Him, but to believe in Him. And in believing, to receive life—real life, now and forever. Let His words abide in you this week.
