Week 47 Reading Guide
The Church on Mission
Acts 13-28
Big Idea: As the gospel breaks beyond Jerusalem, the Spirit continues to lead and empower the church to fulfill Jesus’ mission. Through Paul’s missionary journeys, the gospel reaches both Jews and Gentiles across the Roman Empire. Despite persecution, imprisonment, and obstacles, the message of Jesus cannot be stopped. Reflection for the Week
The second half of Acts is a story of movement, trial, and trust. The gospel refuses to stay contained—it spreads through cities, cultures, and continents. Paul’s life becomes a living example of surrender to the Spirit, love for people, and endurance through suffering. Even when arrested or shipwrecked, his purpose never wavers. We’re reminded that the mission of God isn’t about ease or applause; it’s about obedience. Like Paul and the early church, we’re called to trust God’s leading and carry the message of Jesus wherever He sends us.
